Lighthouse IP Group has created a distinctive complete data set of patents and utility models published in China since the introduction of modern law in 1985. Utilizing intelligent Machine Translations we have been able to translate and interpret almost 5 million documents, all with searchable English, full text specifications and legal status information and with image PDFs in Chinese. The English version is produced using the latest linguistic statistical Machine Translations (MT) techniques. Lighthouse IP Group’s own proprietary dictionaries are based around IPC codes.

To assure higher quality and accuracy a team of expert linguists monitors the machine translations process and manually translates parts of patents. For maximum understanding of patents, images within the main body of the specification (embedded or inline images) have been made available. Legal status events from the patent office are translated into English and published with the patent specifications. Our file contains the complete history of legal status events. Cited references for granted patents (B) are available from 2000 to date. Lighthouse IP Group China patents and utility models data set is currently available for search on Dialog (as file 325) and in 2012 will be part of the new ProQuest Dialog patents collection.
