European Inventor Award 2026 winners revealed

The European Patent Office (EPO) revealed the winners of its European Inventor Award during a ceremony streamed live from Berlin. Now in its 19th edition, the Award celebrates the ingenuity, creativity and determination of inventors who are changing the world around us. As such, this year’s Award honours groundbreaking advancements in the key fields of food chemistry, energy, biotechnology and environmental technology.

China Revises Trademark Law

Chinese lawmakers voted to adopt a revision to the Trademark Law, which came into effect on July 1, 2026. Consisting of 87 articles in nine chapters, the revision highlights key issues in the trademark field. It stipulates the work requirements, regulates the filing of registrations, streamlines the procedures for authorization and validation, tightens administration and enhances the protection of exclusive trademark rights.
